Celebrating Creativity
Throughout all of history, the vision of invention and progress was a result of creative thought and action. Nowhere is this more evident than in the first chapter of Genesis where God, the Master Creator of all things, spoke Heaven and Earth into being.
The Foundation Academy Fine Arts Department celebrates the excellence modeled for us in God’s creation. Each student is encouraged to stretch his or her imagination and expand his or her own ingenuity. While art celebrates the individuality of each student, a prudent curriculum is both aesthetically and practically educational.
Student Involvement
At Foundation Academy, the Fine Arts Department involves the students on three levels:
- A cognitive level in which students gain practical art skills
- An intuitive level where each student is allowed to express his or her own individuality
- A spiritual level that draws them to a closer walk with God as they tap into His creative nature
Foundation Academy offers a wide variety of classes in the arts for grades K-12 in drama, choir, band, and the visual arts.
Our Fine Arts Opportunities
Band
From Beginner Band to our Lion Marching Band, Trash Can Band and more, we offer several opportunities to share your musical gifts with us through one of our talented band groups.
Choir
Through our choir programs, students not only get a comprehensive understanding of music and proper technique, but they also learn the valuable role music plays in a worship service.
Digital Arts
We know fine arts expand into the digital arena, too. That’s why we offer opportunities to learn Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more to expand on their digital creativity early on.
Multimedia & TV
Lights, camera, action! Foundation Academy also offers immersive ways for students to get involved in pre-and post-production, premiere, and audio-visual coursework.
Robotics
Our robotics students get a chance to learn the fascinating intricacies of robotics and have opportunities to compete in local and regional competitions—many bringing home awards!
Theatre Arts
From The Glass Menagerie to Disney’s The Little Mermaid and beyond, students between the 2nd and 12th grades can delight in the art of storytelling through theatre.
Visual Arts
Our visual arts students are given the freedom to express themselves through a variety of mediums in 2D and 3D, exploring painting, drawing, clay, mixed media, and more.
Steel Drums
Foundation Steel has become one of the most popular programs in the arts. Mr. James McKey leads the program which utilizes the unique sounds of the steel drums to learn and cover a diverse range of music!
